Roxie Tucker was born 28 March 1914 in Wise Co., Virginia. She was the daughter of Wiley Tucker and Rebecca Brooks.[1]
Roxie can be found living with her parents on the 1920 Lee County and the 1930 Wise County, Virginia census records. She passed away in 1991.[2][3]
Roxie attended the Appalachia, Virginia High School in 1932. In 1933 when she was 19 years old she married Edward Lewis James of Roda, VA. In 1940 they are living in Osaka, VA and have 2 daughters.[4]Roxie and Edward James would have four children while living in Wise County, Virginia. They would move to Ventura County, California and appear in the U.S. City Directories from 1956 through 1964.
Roxie Tucker James passed away 1 July 1991 in Filmore, Ventura, California.[5][6]She is buried at Bardsdale Cemetery, Fillmore, Ventura County, California.[7]
