Hi,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The Massachusetts Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Click my name, then ask in the comments on my profile.

Hi!

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find duplicate profiles to link into, so it's a good idea to do a search before you create a new profile.

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, our G2G Forum and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have any questions I can help with?

Patrick,

That is wonderful that you have done so much on your tree, and I suspect you will find connections here that take many of those branches way back - in a similar situation, that is how it went for me.

One thing that has surprised me frequently is the number of profiles already on WikiTree, particularly of the early settlers of America and back. I just encourage you to save yourself some time by checking at what point your branches connect. It has been exciting for me, and I wish you the same.

Sincerely,

volunteer greeter April D.d.

Hi Patrick,

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

I've been interested in researching family history for quite awhile. Though 20 or more years ago when I started , it was all information passed on down by family members. Now with all information available on line it's become easier in one sense , but also harder because of trying to verify whats true and what isn't . As far as my family history I've got our tree done on both sides of the family since they came to this country. Some go back as far as 1635.

Hope I can be of some help to others that are researching some of the same people.
