By the census of 01 Jun 1880 Dora was a 24 year old divorcee, living under her maiden name with her six year old son while keeping house for her mother Eliza and stepfather Elisha Runyon in Shellsburg, Canton Township, Benton County, Iowa.[1]
Dora married a couple more times, the last being to a Mr. Thompson.[3] When her son Harry registered for the First World War draft on 12 Sep 1918, he gave his mother as next of kin: Mrs Dora Thompson, living at 1914 West 5th Street in Sioux City, Iowa.[3]
