Charles Turley was the oldest son of William and Margaret Turley. He was born on May 5, 1773 in Fauquier, Virginia.
Charles Turley married Catherine Evans on 24 August 1806 in Fauquier County Virginia. Catherine and Charles had five children James H. Turley (b. June 19, 1807), Richard E. Turley (b. December 11, 1808), Susan E. Turley (b. January 5, 1811), William D. Turley (b. April 18, 1813) and Mary Ann Turley (b. May 23, 1816).
After Catharine died he married Nancy Gaunt.
He died on September 3, 1859 in Amissville, Rappahannock County, Virginia and was buried in a family cemetery on the plantation.
