LaVera married John R. Cox of Elkhart, Indiana on May 17th, 1920 in Elkhart, Indiana at 7:00 pm. The ceremony was officiated by the Reverend J.D. Brosy. The marriage was announced in the Elhart Review on the following day. It read[1],"TURNBULL – COX| Miss LaVera Turnbull, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Turnbull of Fort Wayne, Ind., and John R. Cox, son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cox, of this city, were united in marriage by the Rev. J.D. Brosy, pastor of Grace Lutheran church, last evening at 7 o’clock. The bridal couple will begin housekeeping in their newly furnished home at Eagle Point. The groom is employed at the Foster machine shops and the bride was employed as a telephone operator.”
