Alexander Turnbull has two birth records on the same day 21 May. In 1982 the years were for both 1847 and 1849 Entry Numbers 40 and 195 respectively. Recently BDM have then as 34895/1849 and 35048/1851. In 1982 I was told that events were written up in notebooks when the Minister was travelling around the area and then written up in the church register in batches. It was expected the duplication came from this process. The recent change by Victoria BDM is unclear.[3]
