On 20th December 1787, George married Susannah Stuttle. The marriage was held at Saint Nicholas, in Tillingham, Essex. [2]

Dean and Chapter of Saint Paul Decr: 20th: 1787. Which day appeared Personally George Turner and made Oath that he is of the Parish of Tillingham in the County of Essex that He is a Bachelor of the Age of Twenty Two years and upwards and intends to intermarry with Susanna Stuttle of the Parish of Tillingham… Spinster a minor of the age of Seventeen years and upwards… and prays a License to Solemnize the same in the Parish Church of Tillingham… Geo. Turner Then also appeared personally Thomas Stuttle of the Parish of Tillingham… Farmer and made Oath that he is the natural & Lawful Father of the said Minor and consenting to the aforesaid intended Marriage. Thos. Stuttle [3]

I George Turner of Tillingham… Farmer and Butcher… Do make… my last Will and Testament… My Mind and Will is that all my just Debts… be fully paid… And my Will and Mind further is that my Executors hereinafter named shall keep in their occupation All that my copyhold Farm and Premises situate in Tillingham…known by the Name of Sawards and Brick-House Land for the Benefit, Maintenance and Support of Susanna my beloved wife and the Education of my four children Susanna, George, Hannah and Sarah and of such other child or children as I may leave or she may be… pregnant with at the Time of my Decease until my said son George shall arrive at the full age of Twenty three years at which time I desire… that a fair… valuation of the said Lands and Premises and all the stock crops and farming utensils thereon shall be made and the same shall be equally divided between my said Wife and my aforesaid three children George, Hannah and Sarah and such other child… as I may leave by my said wife… and my said son shall… pay the aforesaid respective Shares to his aforesaid Mother and Sisters when and as soon as they shall … attain the full age of Twenty three years… and in case my said son George shall depart this life before hs attains the aforesaid age of Twenty three years then I… direct my said Farm… to be carried on by my Executors… until my Daughter Susanna shall attain the aforesaid age of Twenty three years… Also I give… all that my copyhold… wherein I now dwell… being in Tillingham… known by the Name of Little Orchard to my Daughter Susanna… as soon as she attains the full age of Twenty three years… Also my will… is that all those my two undivided parts or shares of the Freehold Dwelling house Land and Premises adjoining my own and situate in Tillingham aforesaid now in the occupation of John Osborne called the shop House and Field, And also all that undivided Moiety or part of a cottage and Premises in Tillingham aforesaid in the occupation of James Scarff and also my sixth part of the Tenement or Cottage in the occupation of George Knight, be sold for the most money that they can as soon after my Decease as my Executors shall judge… most convenient and the Monies arising from such Sales I will order and direct shall be equally divided between my said wife and children… Also I give… to my daughter Hannah… as soon as she arrives at the full age of Twenty three years All that my half part of a copyhold cottage or Tenement now in the occupation of John Belcham called Hawes’s and also my undivided Moiety or half part of four Acres of land adjoining thereto now in my own occupation situate… in Tillingham… And also all monies… Book-Debtts, Bills due… and all my Household Furniture, Plate, Linnen china Brewing Utensils, Stock in Trade of a Butcher of what nature or kind soever… shall be… equally divided between my said Wife and children… And Lastly I do nominate make constitute and appoint my Father in Law Thomas Stuttle of Tillingham… Farmer Executor and my said wife Susanna Turner Executrix of this my Will and joint Guardians and Trustees to my said children… this fourth Day of February… one thousand seven hundred and ninety-nine… In the presence of us… George Turner John Spurgine James Scarff Willm Gilbert… June 29th. 1799

Thomas Stuttle (the Father in law) and Susannah Turner (the widow of the Deceased) the Executor & Excutrix named in the Will were duly sworn… & that all the effects of the testator do not amount in value to the sum of £600… [5]

Sarah Stuttle Turner, was the child that was born after her father died.
