Alice (Turner) Jones migrated from Wales to New Zealand.
Alice was married to John Williamson Jones, a Welshman who was a coalminer. After emigrating from Wales, they lived in Huntly, New Zealand.
Alice (Turner) Jones was widowed when her husband was killed in the Ralph's Mine Explosion on 12-Sep-1914
Her husband, John Willian Jones, was killed in the Ralph's Mine Explosion on 12 Sep 1914.
It seems that his death affected her greatly and she spent some time in an Asylum. She had suffered depression.
She passed away in 1916. Alice went missing, and was reported as having been seen many places, but of concern was that she was seen by the river. A diligent search was conducted, but she wasn't found until 21 November. [1]
Alice and John had no children, but at the time of her death she had a nephew living with her. Alice also had a sister living in Auckland. Her will, completed in 1915, left her estate to her family in New Zealand, Wales, and British Columbia.
