Charles Turner was born in England.

Biography

Charles Turner was born on the 11th of January,1841, and baptised on the 14th of February, 1841, at Halvergate, Norfolk, England.[1] He was the son of John Turner and Betsy Galler.

He came to New South Wales with his parents and brother John via the ship Queen of England, arriving on the 22nd of January, 1855.[2]

Charles married Elizabeth Barham on the 12th of November, 1862, and their marriage was registered at Shoalhaven.[3] The Turners farmed at Tomerong, New South Wales.[4] They had at least four sons and eight daughters.[5]

He died at his son in law's residence at Far Meadow on the 12th of June, 1901, and was buried in the Methodist portion of the Nowra Cemetery.[6][7][8][9]
