Biography

Andrew Jackson Turner was born on March 28, 1818. His place of birth was likely Clermont Co., Ohio, but could have been Hamilton County depending on when his parents made the move to Clermont County. He was the 10th child of Michael Turner, Jr. and Elizabeth Beltz. Andrew Jackson Turner married Sarah Scammahorn on February 18, 1839 in Highland Co., Ohio. His brother William H. Turner married Sarah's sister, Elizabeth Scammahorn, on December 10, 1841 in Highland Co., Ohio. Sarah and Elizabeth Scammahorn were the daughters of Isaac and Sarah Scammahorn. Andrew Jackson Turner and his wife had at least eight children, all born in Clermont Co., Ohio.[1]

According to the 1850 census, Andrew Jackson Turner and his father Michael lived near each other in Union Twp., Clermont Co., Ohio. This likely means Andrew Jackson Turner was living in a house on his father's property since none of his holdings were contiguous to his father's property.[2]

Andrew Jackson Turner died on May 10, 1897, at the age of 79. Sarah (Scammahorn) Turner died on April 18, 1895 at the age of 76. They are buried at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, Clermont Co., Ohio.[3]
