Lily Gladys (Turner) Vowles was born on September 3, 1900^[1] in Poole, Dorset, England, United Kingdom. Her parents were Eli Turner (1874 - ) and Ellen Keturah (Abbott) Turner (1877 - 1958).^[2]

In 1911 (aged ~10), Lily was living at Sopley Nr Christchurch, Hants with her parents, Eli (36) and Ellen Keturah (34); and her siblings, Dorothy Evelyn (7), Gwendoline Hilda (4), and Keturah Mary (1); and Doris Fennel (14).^[3]

Lily married Herbert Clement Vowles (1897 - ).^[4]

Their son was Stanley Howard Vowles (1923 - 2005).
