Edward was born Edward Turner on 7 October 1798 Sinnington, Yorkshire and baptised Edward Turner, on 7 October 1798 Sinnington, Yorkshire the son of Edward Turner & Mary[1][2]. His father was Thomas Turner[1].
He married Ann Webster on April 26, 1819 at Whitby, St Mary the Virgin, Yorkshire (North Riding), England[3]. Together they had 9 children:
In 1837 he was a cabinet maker at Church Street Whitby [4].
On 26 December 1839 he was married to Elizabeth Day at Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom [5]. The marriage was by bond entered 25 December 1939 at Whitby[6]. Together they had 6 children:
In 1841 he was 40 living at Church Street, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom with his new wife and four children from his first marriage[9].
In 1851 he was 52 living as head of household at Church Street, Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom with his wife, two children from his first marriage and three children from his second marriage; Thomas (6), Edward (4) and James (1)[10][11].
On 17 May 1853 his daughter Margaret Jane Turner married Charles Kirkness at Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom[12].
In 1861 he was living with his wife Elizabeth and three children, (one by his first wife) at Whitby, North Yorkshire, England, United Kingdom[13].
In 1871 he was aged 72 and widowed living with his daughter Catherine 38 and grandson Edward Turner aged 16 at 21 Spinney Hill, Ruswarp, Yorkshire, United Kingdom[14].
He died aged 79 in 1877 his death being registered in the 4th quarter of 1877 in Whitby, Yorkshire, United Kingdom[15]
