George was born in 1858. He was the son of Gilbert Turner and Sarah Noble.
In 1860 he was living in Pomfret, Chautauqua, New York.[1] The household included Gilbert Turner age 31, Sarah Turner age 31, George Turner age 2, Hattie Turner age 5, servant Mary Ballard age 16, and farm hand Augustus Page age 18. Gilbert was born in Pennsylvania, the rest were born in New York.
In 1870 he was living in Greenville Borough, Mercer, Pennsylvania.[2] The household included Gilbert Turner age 45 born in Pennsylvania, Sarah Turner age 44 born in New York, Hattie Turner age 15 born in New York and George Turner age 12 born in New York. Gilbert was a lumberman.
In 1880 he was living in Elk, Warren, Pennsylvania.[3] The household included Gilbert Turner age 53 born in Pennsylvania, his wife Sarah Turner age 53 born in New York, and son George Turner age 21 born in New York. Gilbert was a lumberman and George was a laborer.
He married Louetta Jane Roper 5 Sep 1886.[4]
In 1900 he was living in Ellicott, Chautauqua, New York.[5] The household included Geo M Turner age 41 born in New York, wife Lauretta J Turner age 32 born in Pennsylvania, daughter Ruby E Turner age 6 born in New York, son Richard H Turner age 4 born in New York, and servant Ida M Ruggles age 31 born in Ohio.
In 1910 he was living in Ellicott, Chautauqua, New York.[6] The household included George M Turner age 51 born in New York, wife Lonetta J Turner age 41 born in Pennsylvania, daughter Rubley E Turner age 15 born in New York and son Richard H Turner age 14 born in New York.
In 1920 he was living in Buffalo Ward 20, Erie, New York.[7] The household included George M Turner age 61 born in New York, wife Louetta J Turner age 62 born in Pennsylvania, daughter Ruby E Turner age 25 born in New York, and son Richard H Turner age 23 born in New York.
In 1920 Gilbert Turner of Jamestown filed a lawsuit against Jamestown Mantel Company of Falconer and his son George M. Turner of Buffalo. He was the was the former president of Jamestown Mantel Company. He was seeking to set aside a deed from George to the Mantel company for seven houses and lots in Falconer. The case was won by the Mantel company.[8]
He died 3 Feb 1923 in Buffalo, New York.[9]
He is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer, Chautauqua County, New York.[10]
