Mary Turner is not the correct wife of James Pickup. The correct wife of James Pickup is Nancy Sutcliffe. He died very young, in fact before the birth of his daughter Mary Pickup Sharp. I have letters from my mothers uncle, Lawrence Pickup, stating he was named after his grandfather, Lawrence Sutcliffe.
