Mabel was born in 1816 in Kentucky. She was the daughter of James William Turner and Charity Freeman Jennings.

She married James Bailey Austin. They had children.

They were in Wayne county, Illinois in 1850, 1860 and 1870.[1][2][3]

James passed away in 1873. In 1880, she was living in Johnsonville, Wayne, Illinois with her son James.[4]

She passed away in 1893. She was buried in Warren cemetery in Orchardville, Wayne, Illinois.[5]
