Levi was born in 1858, the son of Albert and Susan (Reigle) Turner. In 1883, when he was 25 years old, he married Cordelia Ann Mizer,[1] and they had six children:
In 1900, the family was in Crawford Township, Coshocton County, Ohio, where Levi was farming. They owned the farm, with a mortgage. They had been married 17 years and had 5 children born, all shown in the home. The household consisted of Levi (Sep 1856, OH) and Cordelia A (Mar 1861, OH), with children Charles W (June 1883, OH), Nettie E (Jan 1885, OH), Edward H (Oct 1886, OH), Myrtle M (May 1892, OH) and Elmer A (Mar 1894, OH).[2]
They remained in Crawford Township, and by 1910 they had paid off the mortgage on the farm, had another child (Albertus, age 7), and the three older children were no longer in the home. They had been married 26 years and had six children, all living.[3] They remained there through the next ten years, and the 1920 Census shows that both Charles (36) and Edward (32) had returned to the household, Myrtle had married and moved out, and the youngest two children were still home. All three sons were working as coal miners.[4]
Levi passed away in 1927[5] and is buried at Burkhart Cemetery in Coshocton County, Ohio.[6]
