Hello. You changed Quinn-6070's birthplace from Louisiana to Ireland. However, the only census record I've ever found for her has her birthplace as Louisiana. Do you have a source for changing her birthplace?

Hi James!

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the US Southern Colonies Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).

Hi, James. I saw you've been adding profiles for Creel family members with sources from Ancestry trees and websites. Please take a look at the Wikitree pages on researching and sourcing here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:How_to_Get_Started_with_Genealogy#Begin_Your_Search as we try to use primary sources (such as censuses, vital records, baptisms, tax records, etc.) whenever possible and not rely on secondhand and often inaccurate information from online trees.

Hi James,

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree. This link will give you more information on the DNA features on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches that relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!
