George came to Western Australia with his parents on the Warrior, arriving on 12 March 1830.[1]
He married Mary Robertson Thomson on 17 March 1852 in Perth.[2] They did not have any children in Western Australia.

MARRIED. At St. George's Church, Perth, on the 17th instant, GEORGE TURNER, second son of James Woodward Turner, Esq., of Augusta, Western Australia, to MARY R., youngest daughter of William Thomson, Esq., of Allan Bank, South Australia, late of Glasgow.[3]
It is known that he left Augusta to work and live with his brother Thomas in a place nearby called Wonnerup . He then he went on to live with his brother John in a timber cutting business, probably locally as well.
In 1864 he moved to South Australia and in 1869 he was living in Moonta, South Australia.
