Parentage
The basis for Soloman Turner as the father (and therefore Cassandra Harvey as the mother) of Susannah Turner is as follows:
- Susannah married in Hardin County, Kentucky, in 1818.[2]
- Solomon applied for a pension in that county in that year.[citation needed]
- Susannah named her first-born son "Solomon."[1]
- Susannah and her husband ended up in Porter County, Indiana.[3][4][5]
- Cassandra ended up in Porter County at the same time.[citation needed]
- Cassandra and her second husband have yet to be found in 1830, but people of about the right age are living with Susannah and her husband (and cannot be her husband's parents). This may be Cassandra and her second husband, Wright Taylor, with Cassandra's age slightly askew.[6]
- A female of Cassandra's age is living with Susannah and her husband in the 1840 census. Cassandra was known to be a widow by this time.[7]
