HENDERSON, Ky. –– Luther Ray Turner, Sr., 67, of Henderson, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006, at his residence.
He was born April 5, 1938, in Kentucky. He was self-employed. He was a member of Kindred Spirit Church Ministries.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy M. Turner, in 1980.
He is survived by his wife, Viola Ware Turner of Henderson; one son, Luther Ray Turner Jr. of Henderson; one stepson, Ray Cowan of Hopkinsville, Ky.; one stepdaughter, Teresa Bullock of Robards, Ky.; five sisters, Juanita Gibson of Providence, Ky., Betty Nally of Dixon, Ky., Mary Shelton of Henderson, Evelyn Castelle of Clay, Ky., and Lou Barak of Illinois; five grandchildren; two great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, Ky., with Bro. Gerald Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, Ky.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
