Biography

Mary Ann was born in 1819 in Reading, Fairfield CT. She was the daughter of Seth Turney and Narcissa Briscoe. She married William Curtis Hurd about 1845. They are found in the 1850 census in Howard, Winnebago, IL, in 1870 in Janesville, WI and in 1880 in Quincy, Greenwood, KS, where William died and is buried. Mary Ann lives by herself, although she has family near, still in Greenwood, KS in 1900. She moved to Port Townsend, WA, where she died and was buried in Laurel Cemetery in 1909.
