Elizabeth Turnipseed, 1824-1875, wa s born in Ohio, the daughter of Johann Heinrich Rebsmen (Henry Turnipseed), and Fannie Snively (1800-1826). Elizabeth was the second wife of Rev. Eli Hoover. They married on 10 September 1848 in Miami, Indiana. R.F. Donaldson officiated the wedding ceremony. Elizabeth and Eli went on to have seven children. Elizabeth died in Indiana. In 1870, the Hoover family lived in Miami, Miami, Indiana. The family included Eli Hoover, 45, born in Indiana, a farmer, with $4000 in real estate; his wife, Elizabeth, 46, born in Ohio, who could not write; their children, all born in Indiana, Sarah E., 12; Sherman, 10; and Edmond, 4. [3]
Elizabeth (Turnipseed) Hoover, 1824-1875, is buried with her husband and their son, John O. Turnipseed (1856-1861) at Chittick Cemetery, Miami, Indiana. Elizabeth and Rev. Eli Hoover were married in 1848 (his second wife). They had at least five children.
