Appointed in 1817, John Turtle devoted himself to Missionary work in the Bahamas and Jamaica. Jun 1818 John Turtle arrived in the Bahamas, 'the first helper sent out.' A man of great worth and no ordinary talents. Turtle gave seven years of his young manhood to the Bahamas, where he finished his course in 1825.
