He enlisted with the Gloucestershire Reserves Regiment in 1915,[5] later serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers.[6]
He died of wounds on 26 June 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated at the Ferme-Olivier Cemetery.[7]
