John, the son of John Tuttle and Joan Antrobus was born in 1634 and baptized on 21 March of that year at St Alban's Abbey, Hertfordshire, England.[1] John Tuttle, age 1 year, his parents John and Joan, his Lawrence half siblings and Tuttle siblings came from St Albons [sic], Herts, Eng. in the Planter in April, 1635 and settled at Ipswich.[2]
John was still living 6 Apr. 1657, when his mother wrote a letter "if Simon ore John should com lett nott them medell with any thing there."[3] He was definitely deceased by 4 Apr. 1674 when Symon Tuttle aged about forty-three years stated "he was the only child living of Mr John Tuttle and Joanah his wife, who are deceased”[4] He died probably without issue.[5]

Research Notes
According to George Frederick Tuttle's genealogy the passengers of the "Planter" in 1635 included a John Tuttell aged 39 and a John Tuttel aged 1.[6]
Alva Tuttle lists (among many, many, many John Tuttles & John Tuthills):
JOHN TUTTLE born c1596 in Northamptonshire, England, 'very probably' son of Symon born c1560 & Isabel WELLS. immigrated to Boston & lpswich Massachusetts in 1635 on the Planter". He married in St Albans, England Joan daughter of Walter & Joan (Arnold) ANTROBUS. She was the widow of Thomas LAWRENCE and was baptized 25 Jun 1592. Five children are listed including:
JOHN TUTTLE baptized 21 Mar 1633/4 at St Albans, England. He was alive in Apr1657 and died before 4 Apr1674 probably unmarried. [7]
I have found no indication that either of those John Tuttles ever lived in Southold on Long Island, New York. See Tuthill-5 for the Southold line, where the correct spelling is Tuthill.
I have found no reason for this John Tuttle to be called 'Ensign'. The Ensign John Tuttle who died 7 May 1712 was born in Dover New Hampshire c 1671. Note from Baldwin-3428: Information about this Ensign John Tuttle came from Cutter, William Richard. Historic Homes and Places and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Vol 4, 1908. Pages 1545-1546. This is NOT the John Tuttle in this profile.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.

I implemented a brief Biography for Tuttle-270 and included two inline sources, one is his baptismal information, the other indicates his arrival at 1 year of age on the Planter in 1635 with his Tuttle family and Lawrence half-siblings. This profile needs cleaning and it is clear that this is not the Ensign John Tuttle who died in 1712; the information for this Tuttle came from Cutter and I listed in the note about Ens. John Cutter. Please let me know if I can assist with 'cleaning' and 'clarifying' this profile. I have also posted a message on G2G as to this John Tuttle being PGM.
Tuttle-569 and Tuttle-270 appear to represent the same person because: Please see the Research note on Tuttle -270. Based on that I propose these parameters:
born before 21 Mar 1633/4 at St Albans, England
immigrated with his parents on the "Planter" at age 1
died, possibly unmarried, before 4 Apr1674 possibly in Massachusetts
Tuttle-569 and Tuttle-270 appear to represent the same person because: this is not a full match but obviously in the same family grouping. Please see what you can do to connect the line. Thank You
