His wife was called Susanna in his son David's 1803 baptism record, which records him as armiger.[10]
Edward's Will, dated 24 August 1807, was proved on 13 November 1809 with his residence given as Rochester, Kent. In it he asks to be buried at as little expense as possible, and appoints wife Susannah as executor and guardian of his children: on her death his brothers William and Richard are to become guardians. The children are not named. Susanna was his sole heir.[11] The full text of the will is here.
