Willis was born about 1820 in Virginia. He married Mary LNU. He had at least 4 children. In 1880 he is living with wife Mary and one of his sons in Culpeper, Virginia. No further information is known.

It is possible that he was one of the slaves owned by Wm H Twyman in 1860 in Madison, Virginia, but do not have proof.
