Britton served as a Captain, Troup County, February 1830-September 19, 1836, War of 1812. He is listed as a Trader in Murray County, near Dalton, Georgia, census 1850 and city tax recorder.
The Tyler family refuged ahead of Sherman's Union forces to Cedar Bluff, Alabama, and in 1870 were in Cherokee County, Alabama. At this time he was married to his second wife, Caroline and her children, lived with the Tyler family. Shortly after this they had moved to Texas.
Van Bell and his family also refuged ahead of Sherman's forces to Cherokee County, Alabama. Also, his son Robert also went to Texas at a later date. Maybe he went to visit the Tyler family, soon after was murdered? Greg Bell 12-22-2017
