Mary was born in 13 September 1788 the daughter of (Col.) Comfort and Elizabeth (Brown) Tyler of Onondaga County, New York.
She married George Olmsted who was from "Onondaga Valley," and area just south of the City of Syracuse. They had four children: George, Elizabeth, Mary, and Charles.
George served as Onondaga County Clerk 1808-1810. The family moved to Janesville, a little to the east of Onondaga Valley.
George died in 1840 and Mary went to live with her daughter Elizabeth in Troy, Rensselaer County, New York
Mary died 18 July 1870 in Troy and is buried in the Oakwood Cemetery there near her daughters Elizabeth Olmsted and Mary Tracy. [2]
