Sarah was born in 1724. She passed away in 1776.
There is a family story about a great-grandmother of Annie F. Storrs: This ancestor had been married six times and died by the time she was 35. Here is the version recorded by Rebecca (Bartlett) Nally:
My grandma Storrs used to tell me -- I have found it in the records so I know it's true -- she was born Sarah Tyler. She was married six times and died at age 52. Our great-grandfather was #1. He died coming home from the French and Indian War. She was a super person always willing to help where help was needed. She did a lot for Small Pox patients who were feared by most people. Her husband's last names were: 1. Burroughs, 2. Benton, 3. Lewis, 4. Stafford, 5. Leach, 6. Alcott. Her dates are from 1724-1776.
The Job Tyler Genealogy on page 235 (Google Books) seems to confirm this story. Sarah's husbands are listed as David Burroughs, William Benton, -- Lewis, -- Stafford, -- Leach, -- Olcott.
Sarah's known children are David Burroughs, Anna Burroughs Carpenter, John Benton, Sarah Benton Mason, Ruth Benton Kingsbury, Abigail Benton Wright. The births are listed in town vital records (Barbour Collection). Marriages are also recorded in the vital records of the towns.
It is believed that she died at Tolland, CT in 1776, while nursing her brother. Perhaps she died during the small pox epidemic. It is also possible that she is the Sarah Ocott, wife of David, whose cemetery stone reads, "Sarah wife of Captain David Olcut, died June 27, 1780, age 54 yrs" Stafford, Connecticut.

She died while taking care of her brother John, who died 30 May 1780 in Tolland, CT. He is buried at Skungamaug (or East) Cemetery in Tolland, CT. On 6 Jun 1780, Capt David Olcott (spelled Orcutt in records) and widow Thankful Tyler appear in Stafford to post 3000 pounds bond for administration of John Tyler's estate. The marriage between Sarah Tyler and David Orcutt has not been found, but this probate record appears to support it.
