Catherine Tynan married Denis Downling on 6 Nov 1843 at RC parish SS Michael and John, Dublin, Ireland.

Dennis Dowling enrolled on 12 Aug 1864 at New Haven, Connecticut in Company I, 15th Regiment, Connecticut and mustered in as a substitute Private ... killed in action near Kinston, North Carolina 8 Mar 1865^[1]

On 14 Nov 1867 Mrs Catherine Dowling a resident of Dublin city, aged 50 years, the widow of Denis Dowling who was a Private in 15th Regiment, was killed at Kingston, North Carolina.
