Biography

Obituary MRS. W. NORTHEY Mrs. Lydia Elizabeth Northey, 69, wife of Mr. Walter Northey, died on Friday last. Sbe was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Tyrell, of Guyra, and had resided in this district since her marriage 49 years ago. There ars two surviving sons of the marriage - Leonard (Armidale) and Raymond ( Armidale). Another son Norman was killed in action in the Great War. Messrs Frank (Woy Woy) and Joseph Tyrell (Sydney)  are brothers & Miss Sarah Tyrell (Guyra) is a sister. The funeral on Saturday was at tended by a number of relatives and friends. Interment took place in the Methodist cemetery. Rev HC V Lancaster conducted the service in the absence of the Rev C C Cashin who was absent in Sydney. The Uralla Times (NSW) Thurs afternoon 5th MARCH 1942

Northey The death occurred on Friday of Mrs. .Lydia Elizabeth Northey, aged 69 years. Deceased was married to ; . Mr, Walter Northey, of Uralla, 49 years ago. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Tyrrell, of Guyra.... After her marriage she went' to Torryburn Station for a number of years, and in 1915, with her husband, took over Woodfield, a small property on the Armidale road. About three years ago she moved into Uralla. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Messrs. Leonard (Uralla) and Raymond Northey (Armidale). Another brother, Norman Northey, was killed in the 1914-355 war. Messrs. Frank (Woy Woy) and Joseph Tyrrell (Sydney) are brothers and Miss Sarah Tyrrell (Guyra) a sister. The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, according to the Metho-. dist rites. Rev. H. C. V. Lancaster officiated in place of Rev. C. C. Cashin, who is in Sydney. Lydia died in 1942. [1]
