Joseph was born in about 1697. He was buried on 3 December 1742. His wife was Ann Howlett, 1695-1779, daughter of Richard Howlett (of Ditchley) and Katherine. Ann was baptised on 28 August 1695 in Spelsbury, Oxfordshire.
In his will he mentions his copyhold estate in Drayton, Berkshire, his estate in Hampton Poyle, Oxfordshire, and the Rectory or Parsonage of Kidlington.
Children of Joseph and Ann, mentioned in Joseph's will were: Katherine, Martha, Ann and Joseph. (No other children are mentioned, but the will confirms that his late father-in-law was Richard Howlett.)
