Sir Francis Tyus/Tyas owned the manor house of Lede and is buried in the little chapel. A flag stone has an inscription in very rude characters: "Priez pur Kalme Franconis Ties hi ici gist chevaller" (HERALDRY AND GENEALOGY, by Nichols). SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA FAMILIES VOL. II, by John bodie, 1955.
