The couple had the following known children:

2. Sarah A. Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1834.^[2][1]
3. Owen Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1837.^[2][1]
4. William Thomas Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1838.^[2][1]
5. Waid/Wayd/Wade Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1841.^[2][1]
6. James Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1843.^[2][1]
7. Ellender "Ellen" Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1846.^[2]
8. Stephen Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1848.^[2][1]
9. Mary Sullivan was born in Mississippi about 1850.^[1]

The family is living in Scott County, Mississippi in 1850^[2] and has moved to Many, Sabine Parish, Louisiana by 1860.^[1] Husband Owen died sometime before the 1860 census as Clarissa is widowed on the census with their children and living with the Johnson family.^[1] It is possible that Samuel Johnson who is head of the household might be Clarissa's younger brother and could be a clue to her maiden name and parents.
