Biography

Jeanne (UNKNOWN) Bahmahmaadjimiwin was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Nipissing Nation.

"Jeanne" became Jean Nicolet's country wife in 1623. She was from the Nipissing tribe, part of the Algonquin peoples. She mothered a daughter by Nicolet, Madeleine Euphrosine Nicolet (~1628-1689), perhaps named after for a sister of her father named Euphrosine Madeleine Nicolet.[1]

I would like to enquire where this name came from? Gisis (Jeanne) Bahmahmaadjimiwin formerly [surname unknown]

Unless there's an original document stating that, she should be called, simply, Unknown Nipissing. Even if the WHOLE WORLD chooses to give this woman a made-up name doesn't make it so. I'm having a hard time believing Wikitree is fine having fantasy names in their tree. Her name remains UNKNOWN and unless a document is found that changes that, it will remain so.

I am not the profile manager. Up to you Lisa!

Perhaps «Unknown» should be changed for «Bahmahmaadjimiwin» as LNAB.

I agree, this change should still be made.
