Biography
Clara (Joy) Eyres was born in Kent, England.
Clara Joy was born in 1838. She was the daughter of agricultural labourer, Alexander Joy and Sophia Manwaring. [1] Clara was baptised on 28th October 1838 in Brenchley, Kent. [2]
In 1851, Clara was living with her parents and five siblings in Palmer Green, Brenchley, Kent. At the time, Clara was 12-years-old. [3]
In 1860, Clara married George Eyres. The marriage was registered in Camberwell, Surrey. Clara's last name was mistranscribed on the transcript. [4]
In 1861, Clara and George were living in Claremont Place, Camberwell, Surrey. Clara's husband was a boot maker. The couple had two children. [5]
In 1871, Clara and George were living in Peckham, Camberwell, Surrey. Also in the household were three children. Clara was 32-years-old. [6]
In 1881, Clara and George were residing in Lamberhurst, Sussex. Two of their children were still in the home. [7]
Clara's husband passed away in 1889 and by 1891, Clara had moved in with her sister's home in Turnbridge, Kent. [8]
Clara passed away in 1892 at the age of 53. Her death was registered in Turnbridge, Kent. [9]
