Biography
Edward D. Uchytil, 90, of Normal passed away at 5:33 p.m. Friday (May 25, 2012) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
He was born June 20, 1921 in Belle Plaine, Iowa, son of James and Mary Krajicek Uchytil. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Sidney, Richard, James and Bernard Uchytil. He married Edna Meeks on Feb. 5, 1952. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Ellen (Ronald) Blanshan, Moline; Susan (Wilson) Burge and Molly (Dave) Wuethrich, both of Bloomington; one son, John (Cindy) Uchytil, Des Moines, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Andrea Wilcox, Melissa Blanshan, Christopher and Andrew Uchytil, Dr. Jennifer Burge, Alex Burge and Robert Wuethrich; two stepgrandchildren, Teresa (Dr. Brian) Powell and Brian (Trisha) Burge and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World war II.
