Obituary

"We have just been called to sustain the loss of an old colonist, Mr. John Uglow, who has been a diligent and respected inhabitant of Albany for over fifty years. He died at his residence, Albany, on Friday, May 21. There was no reason assigned for death, but a natural decay through old age. Mr. Uglow having attained the advanced age of 81 years. He had for a considerable number of years been a consistent member of the Wesleyan Society.

A funeral sermon was preached on Sunday evening, May 30, by the Rev. J. W. Mouland, at the Wesleyan Church, from the text, ' He shall enter into peace.' The crowded house testified to the respect in which Mr. Uglow was held by the people of Albany. Mrs. Uglow and her bereaved children are consoled by the assurance that the departed 'rests in peace.'[3]

He was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery in Albany, Western Australia.[4]
