Johannes Heinrich Uhl was born on 29 Oct 1884 in Beschtarem, Zürichtal, Crimea, South Russia to Karl Heinrich Uhl and Maria Kuelper. He was baptized on 11 Nov 1884.[1]
Henry John came to America in August 1905 via S.S. Victoria to Ellis Island, New York.[2]
Henry studied theology in Chicago, Illinois and became a traveling minister. Anna and Henry had two children that were born in the States, then they moved to Canada, to Alberta and Saskatchewan. Four more children were born in Canada.
Henry John Uhl passed away at age 72 at his residence in Langley, BC on 1 Nov 1955.
Obituary
Recent Resident Laid To Rest - Mr. Henry John Uhl, late of 3857 Belmont Road, passed away on Tuesday, November 1st at his residence in his 72nd year. Mr. Uhl had lived In this district for only the past six months. He was born in the Crimea but had been in Canada since 1908.
Funeral service for Mr. Uhl was conducted by Rev. R. Layzell in the chapel of Langley Funeral Home at two o'clock last Saturday afternoon, November 5. Burial was in Murrayville cemetery.
Mourning Mr. Uhl's passing are his wife, Anna; three sons. Sam and David in Vancouver and Paul at Alert Bay; three daughters, Mrs. Esther Swordson of Hammond, Mrs. Gage Cole In Burnaby, and Mrs. Ruth Hutson of Olympia, Wash., and ten grandchildren.[3]
