John Paul was born in May of 1859. He was the son of Abraham and Mary (Louthain) Ulery. He married first Mary Nellie Rennells in 1881 in Indiana and had 9 children with her. He married secondly Sarah Tucker in 1909 and a third time in 1913 to Elsie Florence Werts. John was a farmer all his life. He died in 1942 in Indiana and is buried in Paw Paw Cemetery, Miami County, Indiana.
