Martin was born about 1796 in Germany. [1]

Although German, the family moved from Germany to Canton Graupenten, Switzerland, so they could worship freely. [2]

Martin Luther Ulmer and his wife Anna emigrated from Switzerland and arrived in Illinois in 1839. [3]

He died after the 1860 USA Census of Illinois and was buried at Camp Ground Cemetery in Greenville, Bond County, Illinois, USA. [1]

Research Notes

Many Swiss records are not available online and a visit mist be made to the Canton to obtain them. As a result, until a descandant makes a trip to St. Gallen, the parents of this profile will likely remain a mystery.
