Herman was born in 1902 the son of John P and Elizabeth (Bauer) Ulrich.[1] He left home sometime after the 1920 census and much of his Michigan family lost touch with him. He apparently married Jean Scott of Wentworth, Ontario, sometime before 1936 when they were listed on the city directory for South Bend, Indiana, and, with their two daughters on the 1940 census. At the time he completed his 1942 World War II draft registration, he listed his residence as Fowler, Michigan and his employer in Grand Rapids. He died in 1964[2] and is buried in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Sylmar, California.[3]
