Samuel Edward Umholtz was born on 7 December 1814 in Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., PA. He was the son of John Philip Umholtz and Anna Maria Williard. Samuel Edward Umholtz was baptized on 2 August 1815 in St. Peter's (Hoffman's) Church, Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., PA. He married Elizabeth Harner circa 1842. Samuel Edward Umholtz married Abby Maurer on 5 April 1857. Samuel Edward Umholtz and Abby Maurer were divorced in March 1858. Samuel Edward Umholtz married Elizabeth Genter circa 1859. Samuel Edward Umholtz died on 18 March 1883 in Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., PA, at age 68. He was buried after 18 March 1883 in Simeon United Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lykens, Dauphin Co., PA.
