Biography

Olive Underwood married Isaac Cox Sr, son of Thomas Cox and Elizabeth Fincher, on 17 November 1746;

"Isaac Cox son of Thomas Cox of Warrington in the County of Lanchester and Province of Pensylvania Yeoman and Olive Underwood daughter of Alexander Underwood of the township and County Aforsd having appeared before several monthly meetings of ye Christian people called Quakers of Sadbury & Leacock and declared their intentions of marriage unto each other according to ye good order used among them and having consent of parents and relations concerned their said proposal was allowd by the sd meeting. ... they the sd Isaac Cox and Olive Underwood ... at Warrington the Twenty sevnth day of ninth month in ye year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and forty six ... ye sd Isaac Cox taking sd Olive Underwood by ye hand and in a Solemn manner openly declare that he took her ye said Olive to be his wife promising with the Lords assistance to be unto her a faithful and Loving Husband till Death should seperate them and ... ye said Olive Underwod did in like mannner openly declare that She took the said Isaac Cox to be her Husband promising with ye Lords assistance be unto him faithlful and Loving Til Death Should Seperate them or words to the ---.^[1]
