Narcissa was born March 6, 1810 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was the daughter of John Underwood and Jennie Utley.

On November 20, 1830 she married Moses S. Millican in Roane County, Tennessee. ^[1]

She passed away March 20, 1890 in Rockwood, Roane County, Tennessee. Narcissa was laid to rest in Old Rockwood Cemetery, Rockwood, Roane County, Tennessee, United States. ^[2]

Research Notes

I sourced this profile in hopes of clearing up the confusion that Narcissa Underwood who was married to Moses Millican is the same person as Narcissa Unknown who was married to Allen Hughes because it is not possible. ^[3]

I believe the reason for the confusion in part is that they have the same first name, were both born about 1810 in South Carolina and they were both in Roane County, Tennessee in 1870. ^[3]

Narcissa Underwood husband, Moses Millican, passed away in 1850 but she is on the 1850-1880 Roane County, Tennessee census records with her "Millican" children. She passed away March 20, 1890 in Roane County, Tennessee. ^[3]

Narcissa Unknown wife of Allen Hughes was in the household of her husband Allen Hughes in Monroe County, Tennessee in 1850, in Rhea County, Tennessee in 1860 and Roane County, Tennessee in 1870. She is in the household of her son on the 1880 Grayson County, Texas census and she passed away May 1891 in Grayson County, Texas. ^[3]
