It sounds as if we are not certain of her father. If so, this should be more clearly stated in her bio, and her currently attached father should be marked uncertain.

Underwood-8073 and Underwood-255 appear to represent the same person because: Bill, this is a cleanup merge created with a "before 1700" date because the WT user was not pre-1700 certified and did not correctly understand the process at the time. I did not edit the data fields so that it would not look like I was fudging the historical data. Please approve this merge or contact me with questions. Thanks!

Underwood-8073 and Underwood-255 do not represent the same person because: Births 120+ years apart cannot be the same person. More research is needed.

Bill, I understand it looks strange but these dup profiles were created by somebody who was not pre-1700 certified so the birth dates were just set as "before 1700". I didn't want to edit the data fields just to make these duplicates look more like the correct existing profiles to preserve the data integrity. I'm going to resubmit them, please let them go through this time or contact me directly if you have other concerns.

Thanks!

Underwood-8073 and Underwood-255 appear to represent the same person because: Multiple duplicate generations of the Brownson family were created without source by a user who is not pre-1700 certified. This is a cleanup merge, one of many so please do not reject it on the basis of mismatching birth dates as the original user was not able to enter pre-1700 dates. Please contact me (Stauf-1) if you have any questions.

Likely duplicate of Mary Underwood-255 and part of a chain of duplicates created for this family. If submitting a merge or edit please work on these records as a group to prevent stragglers. Thank you.

Heather, based on the biography above, you have created a pre-1700 profile, so the birthdate cannot be accurate. It’s very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Thanks,

Pippin Sheppard

I don't see any indication in the bio or sources that she had a middle name. Am I missing something?

Hi Charles, can you please carry out the merge on this profile. There is no record of Mary Underwood Born in Earls Colne. Underwood-255 was born in Lamarsh which is where the marriage to Roger Brownson took place in 1600.

Thank you for your help.

Underwood-1417 and Underwood-255 appear to represent the same person because: pretty clear duplicate, I think. The difference in the spouses names raises questions though. I have also set their fathers as an unmerged match. I'm not sure of myself pre-1600 yet.
