Biography

Gus was born in 1906. He passed away in 1992. Grandpa worked the railroad and would sometimes take my dad with him. My father was the only son and had 5 sisters. Grandpa had the BEST tomatoes and always had a wonderful garden. I miss him.

Every Year I strive to grow tomatoes like grandpa did. He loved his garden, fishing, the large family dinners grandma would cook and oh boy COULD THAT WOMAN COOK! WOW!

He worked the pipeline so the family moved around a lot until about 1950 when they settled in Dewey, Okla. He was kind and sweet. Loved his chewing tobaccy. A true family man who, with grandma, raised seven girls and ONE BOY-- my father. Three of the children were actually the daughters of one of my dad's sisters named Frankie Belle. Her children are living but were adopted and raised by gma and gmpa as their own after the loss of their young mother. so they are cousin-aunts to me. -MCUA
