Biography

Gideon was born about 1768. He was the son of Jonathan Underwood and Margaret Peggy (Offill) Underwood.

He married Salena Underwood on November 20, 1805 in Franklin county, Kentucky.^[1] We know he had several children but can today can only source Araminta (Underwood) Pearcy.^[2]

He paid taxes in Franklin county, Kentucky on August 7, 1801.^[3]

Gideon signed up in Indiana and served in the War of 1812 in Captain McKay's Company.^[4]

Though it's not exactly sure when he passed away it's believed to be about 1819.

1. It's believed that Nathan died in Jefferson, Indiana.
2. It's believed that Gideon and Salina had a set of twins;

4. Though it's believed his son is Nathan Underwood I couldn't find a source.
