Violet is the daughter of Levi and Cornelia Van Ness (Chamberlain) Underwood.
Daughter of Levi (b abt 1822) and Cornelia V. (b abt 1830) Underwood (1870 census).
In 1910, 1920 and 1930, Violet's 49-year-old unmarried sister, Cornelia E. Underwood, was living with them.
On Nov. 6, 1921, Violet Hoyt returned to the port of New York from Cristobal, Panama aboard the "Pastores." On March 31, 1923, she returned from Naples, Italy aboard the "Laconia," traveling with her husband. On May 3, 1927, she returned from Cherbourg, France, aboard the "Olympic," traveling with her husband.

Hoyt--Violet Underwood, widow of the late Edward V. Hoyt and mother of the late Helen Underwood Hoyt. Died at her home in Burlington, Vt., July 15. She is survived by two grandsons, Robert V. Daniels and Daniel Hoyt Daniels. Funeral services Monday at 2 P. M., St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Burlington. Please omit flowers. Instead remembrances to the Durfee Cancer Fund will be appreciated.
